Sky.Com’s Jukka Viskari reviews the latest gadgets hitting the high-street. This week, the potty putter!

The Potty Putter
This item ticks the novelty box, as none of us had come across a golf related product quite like this. Filling in crosswords or sudokus, reading comedy books yes but this is hands-on albeit admittedly moderate sporting activity.
The image on the box of a male player with his pants around his ankles did manage to preclude the female members of staff around me from testing the product.
The package comes complete with a putting green, professional carpet found at miniature golf courses, a cup with a flag, two golf balls and a “Do Not Disturb “ door hanger.
However, bearing in mind also the fact that I needed to return this product, I decided it would be better to test this in the open office environment rather than inside a closed toilet cubicle, making the door hanger unnecessary. Also, you can’t fit the putting green insider smaller toilet cubicles, such as the ones we have in our offices.
The putter is rather short and has a lightweight a plastic-like feel to it but it does the job nevertheless, especially if you do the putting from a squatting position.
The two balls are more akin to ping pong variety than something to be seen on a mini golf course but you can get used to that too.
Having not touched a golf club for a number of years I was delighted to sink a putt in at first attempt but this proved to be a false dawn as attested by around half a dozen subsequent failed attempts.
A male colleague was unlucky enough not to get a single putt in despite several attempts. What made the putting experience more difficult was the crumpled nature of the accompanied green.
The only female taster who dared to try her luck commented that perhaps you would need to iron the green first before setting this golfing experience up. And when a golf enthusiast male colleague agrees, there is no way of evading the issue. Get that ironing board out now…
Verdict: For once a product the name of which describes it pretty much perfectly.
