Sky.Com’s Jukka Viskari reviews the latest gadgets hitting the high-street. This week, the Sharp End Cat Pencil Sharpener!

Right or wrong, the unique properties of this cat-shaped pencil sharpener reside in its rear end, from now on referred to as RE.
That cats say meow is nothing new but the fact that you can quite legitimately insert a pencil into the RE of one is.
And when you start rotating your pencil nestling in its RE, your otherwise inanimate cat also says meow until you are satisfied (with the sharpness of your pencil, of course).
That this cat did what it did took a male colleague by surprise, prompting some good humoured laughter.
Considering this gadget purely from pencil sharpening point of view, some issues however emerged. Your black cat comes equipped with its very own litter tray which is good. On the other hand the, er, pencil crap seems to have a tendency to get stuck at the place where it – not quite anatomically correctly – exits your inanimate animal.
Also, a curious thing about this cat is that it doesn’t seem to require batteries.
Does this mean that some day it gets so accustomed to having pencils inserted in its RE that it stops meowing?
This would not be entirely unwelcome as constant meowing sound (you can’t switch your cat off) when sharpening your pencils could get to your nerves.
'Undignified' was another word used of this, my manager also adding that "my cat would not like that" which I suppose is a good warning to add here. Don't try this on real animals.
Verdict: As a novelty desk accessory this cat may well produce the effect you want.
